HCII designed and developed a
distributed global directory service(DGDS) product for use in IBMs ISSC outsourcing
business. This product enabled ISSC to implement a single distributed global directory
service in an environment where multiple heterogeneous directory and messaging systems are
already in use.
The DGDS is built with industry standard interfaces such as X.500,
LDAP, and NIS. The DGDS runs on distributed heterogeneous hardware and software platforms,
e.g., MVS, RISC 6000, AIX, MS Windows, and Windows NT. The distributed datastores are in
Sybase, DB2 MVS, and AIX, and native directory service formats for OpenMail, Profs, MS
Mail, MS Exchange, CC Mail, Lotus Notes, and Unix Mail.
Interfaced the DGDS with distributed system management using
industry standard protocols SNMP2 and CMIP. Interfaced the DGDS with two different help
desk systems.
